WWE Official Denies Plotting Against Goldberg

Goldberg in WWE

Goldberg is unhappy with his WWE retirement, but one higher-up in the company has denied that the company plotted against the star.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Gunther put Goldberg to sleep in their match for the World Heavyweight Championship. It was the WCW icon’s first match in three years and had been billed as the final bout of his career. After the loss, Goldberg was surrounded by friends and family as he gave a farewell address to fans, but this was cut off the TV broadcast as the show came to an abrupt end.

Goldberg has claimed the moment might have been “the ultimate rib” on him, and the WWE Hall of Famer is said to be “p*ssed” about his entire retirement run in the company.

Many fans had pointed to Goldberg’s uneasy relationship with WWE boss Triple H in regard to him being cut off, but apparently, that had nothing to do with it.

WWE Didn’t Maliciously Cut Off Goldberg?

Fightful Select has reported that one WWE higher-up denied that they “intentionally or maliciously” cut off Goldberg’s farewell speech after just a few seconds.

The widely held belief is that WWE had a hard out for Saturday Night’s Main Event as it aired on NBC, and the company was not in control of when the show ended. However, others have pointed out that this could have been taken into consideration, and the timings on the show could have been adjusted.
