WWE Debut Win For Released AEW Star
One former AEW star has got off to a winning start to make the beginning of their WWE career.
Ricky Starks shocked the world when he turned up in WWE just a few short days after he eventually received his release from AEW. Starks hadn’t been seen in Tony Khan’s company since March 2024 and it seemed that he was destined to join WWE when his contract expired.
One week later, Starks got a new name as Ricky Saints signed his NXT contract despite being interrupted by both Ethan Page and Wes Lee. That led to a tag team match being made for the February 25 edition of NXT pitting Page and Lee against Ricky Saints and Je’Von Evans.
Ricky Saints Pulls Off WWE Win
During the match Page and Evans fought each other away from the ring leaving Saints and Lee to battle it out for the win. In the end, Ricky Saints nailed his Rochambeau to pick up the win for his team.
Although this was Ricky Saints’ first official match under a WWE contract, the star competed in the company on four occasions under his former name. Saints was part of a two-man team wiped out by Jinder Mahal in 2012 before returning in 2016 for two matches before his last bout in 2018 where he teamed with AEW’s Aaron Solo in a loss against The Revival – the team best known as FTR.
