Two Title Matches Added To WWE Crown Jewel

LA Knight WWE US Champion

Two huge title matches have been added to the WWE Crown Jewel card, including LA Knight defending the United States Title.

At WWE SmackDown in Brooklyn, the United States Champion LA Knight was in the referee role for the “Game 7” match between Carmelo Hayes and Andrade.

It appeared as though Knight was doing his best to be an impartial referee, but that changed when Hayes did a power kickout that led to Andrade landing on Knight’s back. Moments later, Hayes accidentally superkicked Knight out of the ring because Andrade moved out of the way to avoid the kick.

An angry Knight would go on to send Hayes into the commentary table. After Andrade argued with Knight about what he was doing, Knight hit his Blount Force Trauma (BFT) finishing move on Andrade. When Hayes got back into the ring, Knight hit him with a BFT as well.

In a backstage moment later in the show, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis confronted Knight about what he was doing. Knight said he didn’t even want to be the referee. Aldis informed Knight that he had a bigger problem on his hands because Knight will defend the US Title against both Andrade and Hayes at Crown Jewel next Saturday, November 2nd.

LA Knight has beaten both Andrade and Carmelo Hayes in US Title matches, but both of those matches were singles matches. As wrestling fans know, a champion can lose a title in a triple threat match without being pinned, so this could be the end of Knight’s reign as US Champion.

Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill To Defend Women’s Tag Team Titles At WWE Crown Jewel

Also on SmackDown in Brooklyn, there was a backstage scene featuring Damage CTRL’s Iyo Sky & Kairi Sane, Piper Niven & Chelsea Green and Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson, all of whom were arguing with eachother. The Raw GM Adam Pearce, Smackdown GM Nick Aldis & NXT GM Ava were also in the room as well.

The Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill walked into the room. When they got in there, three GMs informed the champions that they’ll be in a 4-way Women’s Tag Team Title match at WWE Crown Jewel. Belair & Cargill were happy about it because they made it clear that they were willing to take on all comers.

Following last night’s SmackDown in Brooklyn, the WWE Crown Jewel lineup looks like this.

* Men’s Crown Jewel Championship: Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther

* Women’s Crown Jewel Championship: WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax vs. Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan
