WWE Crown Jewel Breaks Record

Cody Rhodes WWE Crown Jewel Champion

A record has been broken by the Crown Jewel PLE, as announced by WWE.

The sixth edition of WWE Crown Jewel took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 2nd with two huge matches taking place with a unique reward.

For the first time ever at Crown Jewel, WWE had the top men’s and women’s champions face off with the winners receiving a brand new championship and a ring.

On the women’s side, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan from Raw defeated WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax from Smackdown thanks to Morgan getting some help from her allies Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez. That meant that Morgan was the first Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.

In the main event, the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes faced the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The two top stars had a competitive match featuring a lot of big moves by both guys. In the end, a counter hold got the win because when Gunther applied a sleeper, Cody flipped over and pinned Gunther, who held onto the sleeper long enough that his shoulders were down on the mat for the three count.

After the match, Gunther paid respect to Cody by shaking his hand. Cody was presented with the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship by WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Morgan joined Cody in the ring as well.
