WWE Counter-Programming AEW To Continue Past All In Texas

WWE boss Triple H

If you thought WWE might change their approach to major AEW shows and running against them after a packed All In Texas weekend, think again.

AEW will hold its biggest US show ever when All In Texas emanates from Globe Life Stadium on July 12th. That show will likely be headlined by Jon Moxley defending his AEW World Championship against Hangman Adam Page in a Texas Death match. However, Mercedes Mone challenging Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Title, or Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada battling to become the first AEW Unified Champion, could be a worthy main event.

WWE has not been shy about its aggressive tactics when it comes to AEW and soon announced a Saturday Night’s Main Event to run on the same night. That show will now see Goldberg take part in his final match as he challenges Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title.

Tony Khan then moved All In Texas to the afternoon, but WWE again retaliated with NXT Great American Bash now running head-to-head with the AEW show.

WWE Still Going After AEW

Many fans aren’t thrilled about having to pick what shows to watch live, but it seems WWE won’t change their approach.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that WWE’s next head-to-head with AEW could be announced in the very near future:

I was told that if you think WWE learned something or maybe they decided (counterprogramming isn’t a good idea)… no, we’ve got more coming. At any time, you’re gonna hear about the next WWE battle vs AEW, the next counterprogramming attempt. We’ll be hearing about that fairly soon.

WWE did try to book the same arena AEW is running a residency in later this year, but were instead forced to book another building just 5 miles away.
