WWE Could Make Current Champion “The Face Of AAA”

Triple H WWE Raw Netflix

WWE could be about to take its involvement in AAA to a new level.

Ever since it was announced that WWE had acquired AAA during WrestleMania 41 weekend, the sports entertainment giant has had a growing presence in the Mexican promotion.

This reached a new peak on July 25, when Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano all appeared to confront Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo. It was subsequently announced that Vikingo will face all three men in a Four-Way Match for the title at Triplemania XXXIII on August 16.

WWE Plotting Big Things For Dominik Mysterio

According to a new report via Wrestle Votes Radio, WWE is “strongly considering” having Mysterio win the Mega Championship from Vikingo. This would see Mysterio become the “face of AAA,” at least for the time being.

The company believes that the idea of AAA’s top champion appearing regularly on WWE television is “appealing to both sides.”

Dominik Mysterio will be back in action at SummerSlam, where he’ll defend the Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles on night two of the newly expanded event. The pair had been set to meet at Night of Champions back in June, but Mysterio was forced to pull out with a rib injury.

The 2025 edition of SummerSlam is set to be held across two nights for the first time.
