WWE Show Contempt For Fans With New John Cena Merch

John Cena

WWE can’t help but take a shot at their own fans with a new t-shirt produced for John Cena.

John Cena’s time is almost up as he will retire after his final match on December 13th at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cena was most recently in the ring against his old rival, AJ Styles, at Crown Jewel, and now he has only four dates left on his WWE contract.

Cena will appear in his home state of Massachusetts in Boston on Raw as well as in Madison Square Garden. The 17-time WWE Champion is also scheduled to be part of Survivor Series before his swansong in Washington, D.C.

One of John Cena’s most famous title matches came all the way back in 2006 when he put his WWE Championship on the line in front of an extremely hostile crowd at ECW One Night Stand against Rob Van Dam. The raucous crowd threw Cena’s t-shirt back at him when he tossed it into the crowd, with one of the most famous wrestling signs of all time appearing as it declared, “If Cena wins, we riot.”

No riot was needed as Rob Van Dam picked up the win with Paul Heyman counting the fall as RVD conquered ‘Super Cena.’

WWE Pokes Fun At Fans With John Cena Shirt

Now WWE has borrowed from that history while taking a shot at its own fans with a new t-shirt emblazoned with the slogan, “If Cena Wins We Complain Online.” The shirt costs $34.99, and a description on WWE Shop reads:

Whether you love him or love to hate him, John Cena is one of the most polarizing figures in WWE history. Showcase your unique perspective on the Cenation Leader’s career by grabbing this Ripple Junction Cena “If Cena Wins We Complain Online” Graphic T-Shirt.

The bold, distressed graphic is a humorous nod to the vocal fans, who never seem satisfied with Cena’s success. Made from soft cotton, this tee is the perfect way to spark a conversation and let everyone know you’re part of the WWE Universe, no matter your feelings about John Cena.
