WWE Considered Returning Ex-Tag Team Champions For Evolution 2
There aren’t many days before WWE Evolution 2 premieres.
With each passing day, the anticipation surrounding the lineup continues to build among the fans.
One thing is certain: Triple H & Co. will do everything within its power to pack the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, to the rafters on July 13.
For such premium live events, the Stamford-based company brings back former superstars for one night, triggering nostalgia in viewers.
So, ‘why fix something that’s not broken’ seems to be the formula WWE is going for this time around, too.
According to WrestleVotes, they are considering bringing former tag team champions, who were extremely popular during their stint in the company.
That team, of course, is The IIconics, currently signed with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) as The IInspiration.
Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay returned to TNA programming last month at Against All Odds.
The duo had also expressed interest in wrestling in WWE, thanks to its ongoing partnership with TNA.
The IIconics won the women’s tag team titles at WrestleMania 35 and held them for 120 days.
Trish Stratus Returns To WWE For Evolution
Speaking of former WWE stars returning for Evolution, 7-time world champion Trish Stratus appeared on the 4th July episode of SmackDown.
She will challenge Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton for the gold, with the winner facing Jade Cargill at SummerSlam in August.
Stratus’ last WWE appearance was at the 2025 Elimination Chamber, where she teamed up with Stratton against Nia Jax and Candice LeRae.
Meanwhile, Nikki Bella, who had entered a feud with Liv Morgan before the latter’s injury, is also expected to make the card.
