WWE Confirms Top Star’s Injury On SmackDown

WWE Smackdown Logo Arena

Injuries in WWE aren’t new, but lately, the fandom has been hearing about top superstars getting sidelined or even stripped of titles owing to injuries.

On SmackDown, Michael Cole announced that former United States Champion Sami Zayn wasn’t clear for the latest episode after he was attacked by the MFTs on the previous episode of the blue show.

Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga attacked Sami Zayn after he lost the United States Championship to Ilja Dragunov on SmackDown. Currently, it’s unknown when the former OG Bloodline member will return to the ring.

This isn’t the first time the MFTs attacked him. Ahead of Crown Jewel, Zayn placed an open challenge for the United States Championship, which a returning Shinsuke Nakamura accepted. During the match, Tama Tonga returned to WWE and attacked both The King of Strong Style and the former United States Champion.

Following that, the other members of the MFT arrived to take down Zayn.

The Stamford-based promotion was possibly heading towards a rivalry between Zayn and Solo Sikoa, but it will need to be put on hold until Sami Zayn is medically cleared.

Seth Rollins has also been sidelined from WWE

The Visionary was attacked The Vision members on the RAW after Crown Jewel. Following that, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced that Rollins was not medically cleared to represent the World Heavyweight Championship and was stripped of the title.

CM Punk and Jey Uso will battle for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship on Saturday Night’s Main Event.
