WWE Confirms Former NXT Star Has Joined SmackDown

A former WWE NXT superstar is officially part of the SmackDown roster.

Nia Jax needed a new friend, and now she finally has one. During her WWE Women’s Championship reign on SmackDown in 2024, Nia Jax had allies like Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae, but they were no longer by her side.

During a WWE SmackDown match in Greenville against Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax clearly had her hands full. Thankfully for Jax, NXT’s Lash Legend showed up and choked out Flair’s teammate Alexa Bliss at ringside. Flair was distracted by this, so Jax splashed Flair against the ropes and hit the Annihilator splash for the pinfall win.

After the match, Nia Jax celebrated the win with the “Boujee Bully” Lash Legend. They hugged.

Lash Legend was a former standout college basketball player before signing with WWE in December 2020, at 23 years old. By late 2021, Lash was a regular on NXT as the brand had become “NXT 2.0” and she had her own unique talk show.

As the months and years went on, Lash improved a lot in the ring and became known as a powerhouse on the NXT brand. As a talker, Lash can certainly handle herself and isn’t afraid to say anything at any time. She competed as a tag team with former WWE superstar Jakara Jackson, and they received multiple title shots, but they never won the Women’s Tag Team Titles. They were also part of the Noam Dar-led stable called Meta-Four.

Following her appearance on SmackDown, the official WWE website roster page lists Legend as a SmackDown superstar, as you can see below.

Nia Jax Welcomes Lash Legend To WWE SmackDown

Following Lash Legend’s WWE SmackDown debut, Nia Jax spoke about how her former WWE opponent Legend is now her friend.

“You know, teaming up with Lash was so hard. You know, because we’re not really friends. We’re more like allies (mocking Bliss and Flair). Alexa And Charlotte said I needed to find a friend and the joke is on them. I found a friend. I had a friend. I faced Lash on NXT and she’s a formidable adversary. And I know she’s a bada**. That’s why she’s my friend. And can Alexa or Charlotte say that their friend is a former NCAA world record holder?”

In response, Lash said she is everything she says she is. Lash said they are going straight to the top, and tonight was just the beginning.

It remains to be seen if Lash’s boyfriend, former two-time NXT Champion Trick Williams, will join her on the main roster soon since he’s somebody that many fans want to see on Raw or SmackDown.
