WWE Confirm Brand New Saudi Arabia PLE

WWE Triple H Stephanie McMahon Saudi Arabia

WWE is heading back to Saudi Arabia with a show that has a whole new name for the company.

Over the past year, WWE has begun hosting more events overseas, with Elimination Chamber taking place in Australia, and Money In The Bank in the UK. This trend will continue in 2024 with Backlash being scheduled to take place in France, and Germany hosting Bash In Berlin in August.

Before this recent move to presenting more Premium Live Events in international markets, one country that dominated the PLE schedule outside of North America was the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

WWE has had a lucrative partnership with the Kingdom for several years now and is in the midst of a ten-year deal with Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Entertainment to produce annual stadium shows until 2027.

The last time the promotion hit the Kingdom was on November 4th for Crown Jewel 2023. While several major stars missed Crown Jewel, the Saudi crowd witnessed a blockbuster main event that saw Roman Reigns defeat LA Knight to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title and Rhea Ripley overcome four other women to keep hold of the Women’s World Championship.

WWE Confirms King & Queen Of The Ring

During night two of WrestleMania 40, WWE confirmed the company will host King and Queen Of The Ring in Saudi Arabia on May 25th. SmackDown on May 24th will also take place in the Middle East the night before the PLE on May 24th.

Although the King of the Ring has a long history as a PPV/PLE name and a Queen’s Crown tournament has previously taken place, this is the first time a WWE show has been titled King and Queen Of The Ring.

The international flair to WWE’s PLE calendar these days means that of the next six confirmed WWE premium live events, only one is set to take place in the United States – that being SummerSlam which will be held in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3rd.
