WWE’s Cody Rhodes Unimpressed By Popular Video Game

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes feels like a particular video game is a “complete work.”

The last time Cody Rhodes appeared on WWE television was when he lost the WWE Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 41.

It was a match that had a very controversial finish since the referee was bumped, and rapper Travis Scott got involved in the match to give Cena the win. Cena’s victory ended Rhodes’ first WWE Title reign at 378 days.

Since the loss, Cody hasn’t done a promo or had a match because WWE likely felt that the company’s “Quarterback” needed a break after working so hard for the last few years.

Even though he’s been away from WWE, Cody did appear at Universal’s new Epic Universe theme park opening with his wife, Brandi Rhodes. While there, Cody spoke about the Mario Party video game, which awards gamers with stars and often takes them away.

“Mario Party’s a complete work. You do everything strategy-wise and at the end they’re like, ‘Ehh, we gave this person three stars because they had friends.’ Come on! Come on!”

When Is Cody Rhodes Going To Return To WWE?

There has been speculation that Cody Rhodes could return on WWE SmackDown as soon as May 23rd or perhaps at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24th. John Cena will face R-Truth at SNME, so that could be where Cody chooses to return to television.

The next WWE PLE is Money in the Bank on June 7th in Los Angeles. One of the matches that could take place at that show would see John Cena teaming up with Logan Paul and Travis Scott (in his WWE debut match) against Cody Rhodes and The Usos.

Cody Rhodes is also expected to be a big part of a future WWE event in Mexico. No date was given, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned that Rhodes would be a significant part of it.

WWE does have plans for a major event in Mexico. Multiple sources have confirmed this and the likelihood it would be announced soon…

The only thing we were told is that right now there is a plan for a major show that would be headlined by Rhodes. WWE can’t make the money for a PPV and the costs of doing TV there don’t make sense since the Mexican government nor cities in Mexico aren’t going to pay money to bring WWE in.

But they still may do something, or perhaps a series of things, because they are not hot in competition.

For now, WWE fans will have to keep watching for the return of Cody Rhodes. Just don’t mention the Mario Party game to him because he’s not a
