The Surprising WWE Star That Is Among The Strongest Cody Rhodes Has Faced
Cody Rhodes had an obvious choice for a really strong wrestler in WWE and then another name that might surprise a lot of people.
As the Undisputed WWE Champion who has been a pro wrestler for nearly 20 years, Cody Rhodes has been in the ring with a lot of the biggest names in the history of the business.
In 2023, one of his biggest rivalries was with Brock Lesnar. The two men ended up having a three-match series that saw Cody win the first match, Brock win the second match and then Cody won their decisive match at SummerSlam 2023.
A new WWE podcast/interview series debuted on the company’s YouTube Channel this week with Cody Rhodes hosting a show called “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” and the first guest was Bayley. The discussion led to Bayley mentioning WWE superstar Candice LeRae as an underrated wrestler. Cody reacted to that by mentioning the strength of Brock Lesnar and also recalled working with Candice in the indies.
“So one time, [she] suplexed me on the indies, and the joke I used to make was, the strongest two people I’ve ever been in the ring with were, one was Brock Lesnar, and the other was Candice, like she threw me through the roof.”
Bayley also spoke more about LeRae and their history together.
“I would go to the indie shows at the school I trained at and she was wrestling Gail Kim, like I looked up to her as far as being on the indies and being a girl from California, she was all the way in SoCal and I was in NorCal. We tagged with each other once and against each other once. I mean, if she gets her moment, I hope it’s against me.”
Cody Rhodes Facing Solo Sikoa At WWE SummerSlam
As for what’s next for the WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, he is likely headed for a showdown with Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam.
Since Solo pinned Cody in a tag team match at Money in the Bank, the title match opportunity is coming next. Cody addressed it on WWE Smackdown on June 12th, but it was not a good night for him since Solo and The Bloodline decimated Cody’s mentor Randy Orton while Cody was tied up in the ropes watching it all take place.
