WWE Adds Cody Rhodes Match To Raw, Plus 2/3 Falls Tag Team Clash
A Cody Rhodes match has been announced for WWE Raw along with a 2 out of 3 falls match between two top tag teams.
There was a Cody Rhodes interview segment scheduled for Raw this past Monday on September 11th. After Cody asked the crowd what they wanted to talk about, Cody seemed set on discussing Jey Uso being moved to the Raw brand, but there was an interruption.
It was the NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day along with the group’s ally JD McDonagh. Dominik said he was glad that Cody brought Jey Uso to Raw because he’ll join The Judgment Day and make Cody look like a fool.
As is typical in that kind of situation in WWE, the words led to a fight. Cody Rhodes beat up both guys rather easily. There was a Cody Cutter by Cody on Dominik, then a Cross Rhodes to JD and a Cross Rhodes to Dominik. The heels retreated while Cody celebrated in the ring.
During last night’s Smackdown broadcast, a commercial aired about Raw letting us know that Cody Rhodes will face Dominik Mysterio on the September 18th edition of Raw in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Cody-Dominik match between sons of Hall of Famers will be a rematch of their Money in the Bank PLE encounter, which saw Cody pick up a win over “Dirty” Dom.
One night later on the September 19th edition of NXT, Dominik will have to fly to Orlando and face the NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes in a matchup between two champions with no titles on the line.
Tag Team 2/3 Falls Match added to Raw in addition to the Cody Rhodes match
In addition to the Cody Rhodes/Dominik match, WWE has also announced a 2/3 Falls Tag Team Match between The New Day’s Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston facing the Viking Raiders duo of Erik & Ivar. Here’s what WWE.com has written about it.
A third match has also been advertised for Monday’s Raw with Drew McIntyre facing Jey Uso in singles action. That was set up on last week’s Raw episode.
