Major AEW Star Sends Emotional Message To WWE’s Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes is missed in AEW by somebody very close to the WWE Champion.
It was in early 2022 when Cody Rhodes decided it was time to come “home” to WWE after spending the previous three years with AEW.
As one of AEW’s founding fathers, Cody held the Executive Vice President role at the company, alongside The Young Bucks’ Matt & Nick Jackson and Kenny Omega. Along with AEW Owner Tony Khan, those five men ran the company from day one when it launched in January 2019.
While Cody Rhodes has never openly discussed his AEW exit, he has hinted that there were some issues. After a meeting with WWE’s Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard, Cody returned to WWE in 2022 after reinventing himself for six years away from the company.
Since returning to WWE, it is clear that Cody Rhodes made the right decision, as a two-time WWE Champion and four-time WrestleMania main eventer who is unquestionably one of WWE’s biggest stars, if not the biggest of them all in this era.
In a post on X/Twitter, Cody’s older brother and AEW star Dustin Rhodes reacted to a video of Cody on AEW Dynamite with Tony Schiavone and Dustin.

Drew McIntyre Ready To Face Cody Rhodes At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st, Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against his main SmackDown rival, Drew McIntyre, again.
While speaking to the media prior to the match, Drew McIntyre claimed he had a plan before his showdown with Rhodes.
“This time I have a game plan. I have something in mind. I have one more SmackDown to get through before Saturday Night’s Main Event. And I got a feeling I can get this match in a place where I feel comfortable, that the better man will win, and that’s all I’ve ever wanted. That the better man wins, not the one that plays politics best, or the one that kisses ass best wins.”
There are four matches officially announced for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st.
- For The Vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk vs. Jey Uso
- Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
- WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill
- Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Penta vs. Rusev
