WWE Adds CM Punk-Drew McIntyre Segment And 6-Man Tag To Raw

The longest rivalry on Monday Night Raw will continue with WWE advertising a CM Punk-Drew McIntyre segment just days before their Hell in a Cell match.

It was all the way at the Royal Rumble back in January when Drew McIntyre hit CM Punk with a future shot DDT that led to Punk suffering a torn triceps injury.

While Punk was out of action for six months rehabbing his injury, he made McIntyre’s life hell by repeatedly costing McIntyre the World Heavyweight Title, including in Drew’s home country of Scotland at Clash at the Castle.

At WWE SummerSlam, McIntyre beat Punk thanks to the questionable refereeing of Seth “Freakin” Rollins. In the rematch at Bash in Berlin, Punk decisively won a Strap Match over McIntyre.

CM Punk was ready to move on from Drew McIntyre after his win, but McIntyre assaulted Punk brutally yet again. That led to Raw GM Adam Pearce announcing one more Punk-McIntyre match, which will be a Hell in a Cell Match at WWE Bad Blood on October 5th in Atlanta.

Over the last two weeks, Punk delivered a promo about Hell in a Cell without an interruption while McIntyre did the same.

It has been announced by WWE that on the September 30th edition of Raw in Evansville, Indiana, Punk and McIntyre will appear on Raw to discuss their Hell in a Cell match. The preview does not state if they will be in the ring at the same time in a “face to face” style segment or if there will be something else for them to do.

What Else Is WWE Promoting For Final Raw Before Bad Blood?

There are some weeks when many segments are advertised for Raw and other weeks when only a few things are known. For the September 30th edition of Raw, WWE is promoting many matches and segments.

Another match that WWE added is a six-man tag team match featuring The Judgment Day against the LWO, which means that rivalry will continue. The lineup is below.

* CM Punk and Drew McIntyre to both appear before their Hell in a Cell match

* Bronson Reed vs. Braun Strowman in a Last Monster Standing Match

* The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, & JD McDonagh) vs. The LWO (Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde, & Cruz Del Toro)

* Kofi Kingston vs. Chad Gable

* Xavier Woods vs. Rey Mysterio

* Lyra Valkyria vs. Zoey Stark

* Jey Uso appears as the new Intercontinental Champion

What also makes that episode of Raw special is that it’s the end of the three-hour Raw episodes on USA Network. Starting on October 7th and until the end of the year, Raw will be two hours long.
