WWE “Chomping At The Bit” To Land AEW Star
WWE wants to sign another AEW star.
After months of speculation and uncertainty, it’s been reported that Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo are on the brink of signing for WWE. That’s if they haven’t put pen to paper already. The pair signed with AEW back in 2019 but they’ve reportedly been angling for an exit for several months.
The report noted that the pair will sign a multi-year contract with the sports entertainment giant before debuting on the main roster.
Interestingly, it’s also been claimed that Miro has requested his release from AEW, despite having a contract running until Spring 2026. The star, who has wrestled just 11 times since November 2021, has repeatedly been linked with a return to WWE.
WWE Looking To Land More AEW Talent
In recent months it’s become something of an open secret that WWE has an interest in Daniel Garcia. It’s widely believed that the AEW star’s contract is set to expire in October, and he’s yet to sign an extension.
With Garcia back on television, many took that as a sign he would be staying put, however, WWE is determined to sign him if the opportunity arises. According to PWNexus’ Cory Hays, WWE is “chomping at the bit” to sign him.
Sources tell me WWE is “chomping at the bit” to sign Daniel Garcia if he were to come available when his contract is set to expire next month. As of right now, Garcia has still not re-signed with AEW
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that WWE has offered Kevin Owens a new contract. The star is set to become a free agent in January 2025 and AEW retains a “major interest” in securing his signature.
