Major WWE Champion Will Allegedly Drop Title In 12 Days

A storyline may be in the works for a title change in the next 12 days.

On the June 30 episode of RAW, Rhea Ripley opened the show, discussing her conquest of Raquel Rodriguez at WWE Night of Champions.

She also explained that she has her eyes set on the upcoming all-women PLE Evolution.

However, before she could spell out her plan, the Eradicator was interrupted by the Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky, who picked Ripley as her next challenge.

Their clash was finalized to take place at the second edition of Evolution on July 13 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The panelists on The Last Word podcast claimed that Sky may drop her title for a very specific reason.

Jonathan Coachman cited Iyo Sky’s language barrier, which resulted in her failure to deliver a good promo, as the reason for her championship reign to come to an end.

Do you think they (wrestling fans) register or can even have a feel for a person from halfway around the world that doesn’t cut a promo very well? And it’s not her fault; it’s not her first language. But they (WWE) have to know this and figure out either another way or take the title off of her, which I believe will happen at Evolution and Rhea will take her spot again. [17:18 onwards]

Battle Royal Announced For WWE Evolution

The general managers of WWE RAW and SmackDown, Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, announced that Evolution will also feature a battle royal match.

The winner of that match will receive a championship match at Clash in Paris on August 31.

Stephanie Vaquer was later interviewed and asked to share her thoughts on the battle royal and who she would face if she were to win it.

She said she would challenge the winner of the Iyo Sky vs. Rhea Ripley match.
