WWE Champion Not Cleared For Physical Contact On SmackDown

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has revealed that a current champion was not cleared for physical contact on WWE SmackDown ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Last week, Tiffany Stratton squared off with Kiana James on the blue brand. After the WWE Women’s Champion defeated James, the latter’s business partner, United States Women’s Champion Guilia, attacked her. Unexpectedly, Jade Cargill returned and came to the aid of the 26-year-old.

After clearing the ring, The Storm celebrated with the champion before shockingly turning on Stratton. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion beat down Tiffy Time and appeared to have injured the latter’s knee before WWE officials interfered to separate the two superstars.

It was later announced that the two would square off for the WWE Women’s Championship tomorrow at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Tiffany Stratton Wanted Revenge On Jade Cargill On WWE SmackDown

Tiffany Stratton kicked off tonight’s episode of SmackDown, calling out Jade Cargill. Instead, it was SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis who came out to address the WWE Women’s Champion. He told her medical status was “cleared as tolerated,” which meant she could not have any physical contact before her match tomorrow.

The 26-year-old said that she did not care what the doctors said, dubbing Cargill a coward. The Storm then came out to the stage with a microphone, but was quickly told by Aldis that no physical contact between her and Stratton was allowed. The SmackDown GM even called for security to stand between the two superstars.

Cargill said that all she wanted was the title, claiming that Tiffy Time would be up at Saturday Night’s Main Event. As Stratton left the ring and tried to attack her challenger, she was stopped by security. She then returned to the ring and raised her title to end the opening segment.
