3-Time WWE Champion Doesn’t Rule Out Facing John Cena
John Cena is set to retire by the end of this year.
He has faced some of his most iconic rivals, like Randy Orton and CM Punk, this past year. He’s set to face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza on September 20. As Cena nears his retirement date, fans wonder which other will get the opportunity to step inside the ring for the last time, as there are very few dates left on his tour.
One of John Cena’s rivalries saw him in a feud with Bray Wyatt. The storyline blended psychological warfare with intense in-ring battles, where Wyatt portrayed a sinister cult leader and Cena as the resilient hero. The storyline showcased Cena battling not just Wyatt but also dark, supernatural elements, deepening the emotional stakes for fans.
Their final major encounter was the Firefly Fun House Match at WrestleMania 36 in April 2020, which Bray Wyatt won to put a unique close to their chapter together in WWE. Sadly, Bray Wyatt passed away in August 2023 at just 36 years old due to a heart-related health issue, leaving the wrestling world in shock and mourning.
Because of his death, a rematch with Cena will never happen. However, Wyatt’s legacy continues through his brother Bo Dallas, who plays Uncle Howdy in WWE and leads the Wyatt Sicks.
Bo Dallas Comments on Potentially Facing John Cena
The 3-time champion in WWE, Bo Dallas, recently had an interview with Adam Barnard of The Sportster, where he was asked whether Wyatt Sicks will target John Cena before his retirement tour ends and he hangs up his wrestling boots for good. He suggested a potential Cena vs. Uncle Howdy match could still be on the cards before Cena retires, which would be a fitting way to revisit the unfinished business between the Cena and Wyatt legacies.
“I think, never say never. There’s always a possibility, I’d say, just keep watching. There’s a lot of big stuff that the Wyatt Sicks is going to be getting done really soon.”
