15-Time WWE Champion Plans To Come Out Of Retirement
A former WWE Champion hopes to come out of wrestling retirement.
Ash by Elegance, fka Dana Brooke, who is currently signed to TNA as a producer, announced her retirement from in-ring competition at September’s Victory Road.
The promotion held a dedicated segment for the TNA Knockouts World Champion, with the Director of Authority Santino Marella and TNA President Carlos Silva in the ring.
Ash took to the ring and, without revealing much, announced that she would be vacating her title, bringing her 34-day reign to an end. Ash competed in WWE as Dana Brooke and was a 15-time 24/7 Champion.
On the same night, a 10-woman royal rumble was organized, the finalists of which would compete for the vacant title.
NXT’s Kelani Jordan and TNA’s Lei Ying Lee were revealed as the contenders, with Jordon pulling off a surprise win.
On Night 2 of NXT Gold Rush, Jordan lost the title to Lei Ying Lee in a triple threat match, which also included Jordynne Grace.
Ex-WWE Star Hopeful Of Overturning Retirement
Despite being currently retired, Ash by Elegance holds a backstage role in TNA.
While speaking to Fightful‘s Sean Ross Sapp recently, the ex-WWE star claimed that she had more to offer and that her story was not over yet.
No, it definitely is. I will say this, I’ve seen so many things on the internet and when the time is right, I will come out and I will share my story. My story is not over yet. It’s very personal to me. It’s been very difficult. I feel like the world and the WWE Universe, TNA Universe, everybody knows that when the time is right, I always share and I keep it real. I just need to get over this hurdle and this personal situation that I’m dealing with mentally and also physically. But when the time is right, I will share my story 100%.
But TNA gives me hope. They give me a position where I can manage my team and help the female locker room. It’s been such a blessing. I absolutely love what we’re doing here in El Paso. I am going to be one of the Elegant Elves and give back to the children’s hospital and over the holiday season.
So when I’m at TNA and when I’m backstage, it makes me work 10 times harder, where you don’t see where I’m definitely trying anything I possibly can do to get back into the ring faster than you know it. I never say never, but when the time is right, I will come out and I will share my experience. Just give me time. Everyone processes differently. I’d like to get over obstacles before, then be able to speak about it. [H/T: Fightful]
