WWE Champion Credits Shawn Michaels For Incredible Advice
A current champion on the WWE NXT brand is grateful for Shawn Michaels giving the correct advice at the right time.
The two-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will always be remembered as one of the greatest in-ring performers and all-around characters in pro wrestling history.
In his role as Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative for WWE, Shawn Michaels oversees the NXT brand, making a massive impact on the careers of the next generation of wrestlers.
When Jacy Jayne won the NXT Women’s Title on May 27th by defeating Stephanie Vaquer, it shocked many people because Jayne hadn’t been NXT Champion during her four years on the brand. However, she got the job done in that match, and she’s been the champion for the past five months.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Jacy Jayne spoke about her initial reaction to winning the NXT Women’s Title and how her NXT boss, Shawn Michaels, was there to tell her to enjoy the moment.
“I remember when I won the title, I came to the back and I was like, ‘How was the match, did you like the match, what can I do better, what didn’t you like?’ Just asking annoying questions I guess.
He was like, ‘I want you to stop thinking, turn your brain off, please at least try to enjoy this moment. I need you to enjoy this ride because you worked really hard for it and you’re an overthinker and I need you to not be an overthinker and really just have fun with this.’
I definitely overthink every minor detail and he knows that, so him telling me [to] chill out, I need that sometimes.”

Jacy Jayne will be in one of the big matches at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc on Saturday, October 25th, as she defends the NXT Women’s Title against Tatum Paxley. The Halloween Havoc lineup is below.
