WWE Looking To Cash In On AAA Star After Worlds Collide
WWE thinks it might have struck gold with one AAA star.
In the opening match of WWE x AAA Worlds Collide, Dragon Lee teamed with Cruz Del Toro and Lince Dorado to take on Aerostar, Octagon Jr., and Mr. Iguana.
Ultimately, the win went to the AAA trio, but in the eyes of fans, there was really only one winner. Mr. Iguana and his stuffed pet iguana, La Yesca, stole the show, delighting the crowd with their antics as La Yesca even took a standing Moonsault from Dorado.
Mr. Iguana later appeared in the crowd at Money In The Bank to another monster reaction.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there has already been talk about how to merchandise Mr. Iguana.
WWE Star Misses Out On AAA Mega Championship
In the main event, Chad Gable challenged El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship. Vikingo had only won the title a week earlier by beating Alberto El Patron, better known to WWE fans as Alberto Del Rio.
After a wild 22-minute battle, Vikingo managed to retain his title with a Poinsonrana into a Meteora, topped up with a 630 Splash. As soon as the final bell sounded, the bout was hailed as a ‘match of the year’ contender by fans on social media.
Thankfully for Gable, given the incredible punishment he took and dished out, he was able to rest following the action and didn’t have to take part in the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match. That honor fell to El Grande Americano, who definitely isn’t Chad Gable.
