WWE Surprisingly Cancelled Total Divas Star’s Return
A former WWE star has revealed how the company surprisingly cancelled plans for their return.
The advent of the women’s Royal Rumble in 2018 meant that the possibility of surprises at the annual event doubled. Many former stars, such as Torrie Wilson, Summer Rae, Mickie James, and Molly Holly, have made their surprise return to the ring in WWE in that match.
In 2022, it was the turn of former Funkadactyl, Cameron, to make her return to the ring after six years away. However, according to the star herself, her return was meant to be a much more substantial one.
WWE Cancels Cameron’s Return Plans
Speaking on Identity Crisis, Cameron revealed that her return came after a very personal tragedy, and she was left with more questions than answers when WWE cancelled plans for her:
It was super fun, felt really good. I was nervous but great to be back. Then, my dad passed on Monday. We did the Rumble on Saturday, there was other things going on at that time. The person I was dating, that’s a whole nother’ — it was just like, people don’t know what you’re going through.
Dad passed on Monday, got a call on Tuesday to come back. Everyone’s like, ‘Are you ready, like, are you okay? Are you in a good place?’ I was like, ‘No.’ My dad would love this, like the legacy lives on. I got a text message being like, call me back because we wanna —- Yes, [it was from Johnny Ace].
Wednesday, everything is good. Thursday, all of a sudden I see my travel has been canceled. I’m like, ‘What?’ So then I ask and it was just like, ‘Oh, we don’t have an answer.’ That was a really rough time and that’s when my mental health started to take — I was already dealing with my mental health, but that’s when I really went like, it’s trying my patience.
