WWE Bump That The Undertaker Vowed To Never Take Again

The Undertaker Says He Prefers Attitude Era Over Current WWE

The Undertaker knew he’d never take a famous bump again.

At Survivor Series 2007, The Undertaker took on World Heavyweight Champion Batista inside Hell In A Cell. As the match reached its violent conclusion, The Deadman looked set to grab the win, but Edge interfered, costing him the match.

This reignited a rivalry between ‘Taker and Edge that ran for several months, during which the veteran beat Edge to win the World Title at WrestleMania. However, the rivalry continued with another win for The Undertaker at Backlash, before they wrestled again at Judgment Day and then finally One Night Stand.

At One Night Stand, the pair met in a TLC Match, which ended with The Undertaker falling from a ladder through a stack of tables after interference from Edge’s La Familia stable. As a result, Edge regained the World Championship, and Taker was banished from WWE, although he was reinstated six weeks later.

Once back on SmackDown, Undertaker went on to beat Edge at SummerSlam inside Hell In A Cell.

The Undertaker Felt Once Was Enough

During an appearance on D-Von Dudley’s YouTube channel, ‘Taker reflected on the huge bump at One Night Stand and explained that despite the risks involved, everything went to plan. However, he immediately had no desire to do a spot like that again, adding that once he’d ticked it off his list, that was enough.

“This was against Edge, and I have to hit this table. That one was a little hairy because you just never know with the ladders if they’re going to slip. They’re unpredictable and the tables, because of the angle, you’re coming straight down so you you kind of slide off of it. We got a pretty good break there.

Yeah, those are always a little hairy. But, I mean, at this point, I feel like I’m still relatively young, and you can’t hurt me at this point.

It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t, by no means, was it the worst bump I ever took. Again, I feel like, at this point, I’m still young and indestructible, and everything is in one place. Anytime you see me laying like that after that kind of a big bump, I’m assessing how I feel. I was like, ‘Does everything move? Everything good?’

Every time I take a bump like that, I marked that one off. I’m not doing this again. This one is off the list.”

During the same conversation, The Undertaker heaped praise on Gunther, not only for his skills in the ring but also his ability to blend old-school fundamentals and a modern style.
