Why WWE Bout Left Tiffany Stratton Fighting Back Tears
Tiffany Stratton has opened up about how one of the biggest matches of her WWE career made her feel very emotional.
It has been a breakout year for Tiffany Stratton after joining the WWE main roster. Stratton went on to win the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match, which means she can cash in her Money in the Bank contract against any women’s champion in the company any time she wants.
The woman who likes to talk about “Tiffy Time” also has aligned herself with WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax, who sometimes treats Stratton disrespectfully.
Before joining the WWE Smackdown roster, the former gymnast had a successful run on the NXT brand that saw her hold the NXT Women’s Title for an impressive 107 days. The legendary Becky Lynch took the title from Stratton, which led to the two women main eventing NXT No Mercy 2023 in an outstanding Extreme Rules Match.
Early on in that Extreme Rules Match, Lynch put a hard hat on her head and she headbutted Stratton, which led to Stratton getting cut open inadvertently. Stratton had been wrestling for only about two years at that point, so it was a new experience for her. Stratton explained to Alistair McGeorge of Metro that it made her want to cry.
“In the moment, I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ when she hit me on the head with her hard hat and busted me open. That was like, “Oh my gosh, I want to cry right now.”
Tiffany Stratton Calls Becky Lynch “Amazing”
As she further discussed the NXT No Mercy 2023 main event match, Stratton praised Becky Lynch for helping her and after it was over, Stratton felt like it was easy, which shows how comfortable she became in a WWE ring.
“Becky was amazing. She guided me through, I was very nervous that whole day, just because everything just happened so quick, and I wasn’t ready. And then those TVs, they go by so quick and you don’t even realise it, and by the time it was over, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s it, that was so easy!'”
As the Women’s Money in the Bank holder, Stratton carries around a pink briefcase that looks more like a purse. Stratton has said she got the idea from a Chanel bag she bought, so it’s an example of how shopping can be inspiring after all.
