WWE Urged To Book John Cena Against Ex-Champion Before Retirement

John Cena

John Cena must face a former champion who was a part of his previous run in WWE.

John Cena is on his retirement tour now. The seventeen-time World Champion has a limited number of appearances and matches left, and he should face a fan-favorite before he leaves.

Before The Last Real Champion kickstarted his final run in WWE, he had a short one back in 2023. During that time, he teamed up with LA Knight to take on Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. At that time, Cena also announced that he would be the special referee in a singles match between LA Knight and The Miz at Payback.

On Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts spoke about John Cena’s final run and why he thinks Seth Rollins will cash in on him. While addressing LA Knight’s current situation, Roberts said that the seventeen-time World Champion should face off against the former United States Champion.

“The last time John Cena was here, the last run John Cena had before this final run, LA Knight was a big part of it, and I think that should come up at some point in the future.” [19:44 – 19:56]

Seth Rollins May Cash-in On John Cena At Night Of Champions

On WWE RAW last week, CM Punk interrupted John Cena’s segment and challenged him to a WWE Title Match. Cena granted Punk’s wish and said that he would put the title on the line at Night of Champions. While the two stared down at each other, Seth Rollins came out to remind them that he holds the Money In The Bank briefcase.

On the same podcast, Sam Roberts spoke about Seth Rollins possibly cashing in during the WWE Championship match at Night of Champions. He added that by doing so, he may win the title and set up a match against his longtime rival, CM Punk.
