WWE Quietly Dropped Big Hint On The Rock’s Future
The Rock could be closer than ever to a WWE return.
When The Rock stood at the top of the ramp staring daggers at Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Jimmy Uso at the end of Bad Blood, fans were excited for the next chapter in his storyline with The Bloodline.
In the minutes after the show went off the air he cut a promo on just about everyone before leaving the building, and at that point fans were certain something big was coming.
But then he disappeared.
The disappearing act was followed by reports that WWE is planning for WrestleMania without The Rock, despite him previously appearing to set up a match with Rhodes. However, others have remained adamant he’ll be there and working the main event.
The Rock Is Returning To Raw
Regardless of his status for WrestleMania, Rock has long been expected to appear on the January 6th edition of Raw when the show premieres on Netflix. And the company seems to have offered a hint that this will be the case.
As noted on Wrestle Votes Radio via a Sportskeeda Backstage Pass Q&A, an image of The Rock featured on a truck behind Adam Pearce when he announced Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk for Raw’s debut on Netflix — something that didn’t happen by accident.
“If you watch Raw last night, you want to go back and watch it, or whatever, Adam Pearce is backstage talking about making [Seth] Rollins and [CM] Punk for Netflix. The whole segment was about Netflix. Right over his shoulder is a semi-truck with a big picture of The Rock.
They don’t do that type of thing by accident. They never do and they’re not going to start. And that’s what I’ll say about that. There was a purpose for that, and as far as I know, he’s expected to be there, whether that says he’s working WrestleMania or not. That’s a different ball game.
I do know on January 6, there are people within the WWE that expect The Rock to be there.”
Elsewhere on January 6th, WWE will crown its first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
