WWE Backlash 2026 Location And Date Revealed

WWE’s post-WrestleMania PLE Backlash takes place in May, and the tentative location and date for its 2026 edition might just have been revealed

WWE Backlash is a PLE (Premium Live Event) that has had a rich history with its 20 editions. The PLE is the annual event that was conceptualised as “The Backlash” to WrestleMania, where feuds and rivalries that culminated in the grandest stage of them all would get re-ignited. Backlash, however, has not always followed WrestleMania, which takes place in April, but has been reinstated to being held in May in recent years.

Postwrestling.com has reported that WWE Backlash 2026 is set to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in May. WWE have not confirmed this with an official announcement yet, but according to Post Wrestling, the company’s internal calendar currently has the PLE listed for Saturday, May 9, 2026. The reporter said

The promotion is set to stage Backlash in San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to multiple sources who informed John Pollock and Brandon Thurston.

While we have not confirmed the exact date, a source with access to an internal calendar indicates Backlash is listed for Saturday, May 9.

WWE Backlash Was Held In Puerto Rico In 2023

The Stamford-based promotion is returning to Puerto Rico for the first time since 2023, when that year’s Backlash PLE was also held in San Juan.

The event was known for its inclusion of music superstar and Puerto Rico native Bad Bunny, who wrestled and won against Damian Priest in a San Juan Street fight.

Bad Bunny is a huge wrestling fan and is currently under contract with WWE. The music artist has said that he would like to wrestle again and was spotted wearing a mask at a recent CMLL event.

The Backlash PLE is scheduled a few weeks after WrestleMania 42, which will play out over two nights, Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
