WWE Hall Of Famer Recalls Unexpected Apology From The Ultimate Warrior
The Ultimate Warrior delivered a shock apology to Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts at the 2014 WWE Hall Of Fame Ceremony.
Often an outspoken and divisive figure in the business, The Ultimate Warrior had no shortage of enemies after his departure from WWE. Such was the disdain for their former hero, the company saw fit to release the controversial DVD offering ‘The Self-Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior’ in 2005.
The documentary featured a variety of present and former WWE Superstars burying the former WWE Champion, including the likes of Hulk Hogan, Triple H and Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan.
By 2013 relations had thawed between the two sides and Warrior was featured in an advert for the WWE2K14 video game, where he was also available as a playable character. It paved the way for a WWE Hall Of Fame nod ahead of WrestleMania XXX in 2014 and the muscular star used his return to the company to mend some fractured relationships.
During a recent edition of ‘Rewind Recap Relive‘, fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts opened up about an unexpected apology received from the former WWE Intercontinental Champion at the 2014 Hall Of Fame induction ceremony.
Roberts revealed that he was pleased to have buried the hatchet with his former foe, having fallen out after Warrior was fired from the company in 1991 as the pair were about to enter into a big money feud:
“Felt really good, man. Felt really good. I didn’t see that coming. I went there with all intentions of having a fight, and I was looking for him at the time.
Then he tapped me on my back, I turned around, he started apologizing, and he’s saying how bad he felt about what he’d done and knew that it cost me millions. Cost me a lot of money, man.”
Tragically, The Ultimate Warrior would pass away aged just 54 after suffering a heart attack less than 72 hours removed from his induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame, with Roberts registering his sadness at the loss:
“It was just so sad, you know, what happened. Yeah, it was really sad. For his children to be there seeing that, just horrifying. It was bad.”
The Ultimate Warrior On Receiving End Of Hilarious Undertaker Prank
