It looks like WWE is opting to combine the Raw/Smackdown rosters for live events rather than doing separate brand shows as the have done in the past. They could go back to separate brand shows in the future.

TJR Thoughts: If you look at the locations of the Friday and Sunday shows around SummerSlam, Las Vegas makes a lot of sense as the venue for SummerSlam. It’s just a matter of WWE making it official. The interesting thing about the Saturday, August 21 date is that Manny Pacquiao is fighting Errol Spence on the same date in Las Vegas although WWE will be in the football stadium. It’s just a bit strange that WWE would opt to go for a Saturday show instead of the traditional Sunday PPV date.

There is a rumor that WWE might go with Roman Reigns vs. John Cena as the main event of SummerSlam, but it’s just a rumor for now. Cena could return to WWE TV when WWE goes live on the road again in mid-July.
