WWE Announces Sasha Banks Vs Charlotte for Women’s Title at Summerslam
WWE made it official Saturday, announcing via Twitter that Charlotte would take on Sasha Banks for her WWE Women’s Championship at Summerslam. The announcement comes five days after “The Boss” Sasha Banks ended Charlotte’s 113-day reign as champion on the July 25th edition of Raw, not to mention her tag-team defeat — along with NXT star Bayley — over Charlotte and Dana Brooke at Battleground the night before. Charlotte will invoke her rematch clause at the Biggest Event of the Summer on Sunday, August 21. From NXT, to Wrestlemania, and now Summerslam — Charlotte and Sasha Banks have had one of the most competitive and hottest rivalries in the WWE for the past year. Charlotte began her first title run at the expense of Sasha Banks — and Becky Lynch — and now “The Boss” has returned the favor.

Their matches have consistently been impressive displays each time these two take the ring together, and Summerslam could become the benchmark of this electrifying rivalry.
Both women commented on the match as well.
I am not afraid, I was born to do this! #Summerslam#LegitBosshttps://t.co/bZlIBLr6cU

Mike’s Take: This was the rumored plans for what seems like months now. Both women deserve the big spotlight as Charlotte has done a very good job as the company’s top female heel, while Sasha Banks — one of the most talked about women on the roster — has been arguably the top crowd favorite this summer despite not often appearing on television. Now that she’s consistently on TV and holding the title, Sasha’s popularity will continue to skyrocket. I am really looking forward to seeing what these two bring to the table at Summerslam.
