WWE Announces John Cena vs. AJ Styles At Money In The Bank June 19

A “dream match” is set for WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view as John Cena will face AJ Styles for the first time ever on June 19 in Las Vegas. The match was officially announced by WWE on their website as well as their many social media platforms.

The match announcement was obvious after Styles teased an allegiance with Cena against The Club, which led to Styles’ surprising heel turn as he beat up Cena with The Club.

Here’s a comment from Cena in Twitter form.

Styles commented on it likely backstage at the WWE live event tonight and it was uploaded to WWE’s Youtube channel.

In the video, Styles said that he would explain his attack on Cena on Raw next week.

TJR Thoughts: It was pretty obvious that they would do the match based on Raw. I’m a little surprised that they would wait until Friday on WWE.com to announce it. They really should have done it as soon as their segment was over as a way to get people talking on social media. It doesn’t matter that much, though.

I think Money in the Bank is shaping up to be the potential PPV of the year because Reigns vs. Rollins, Cena vs. Styles and the Money in the Bank ladder match all have the potential to be outstanding matches. They still need to add four or five more matches, but no matter what else they add, those are the three matches that people will care about the most.

Who wins this match? I would pick Styles because I think he needs the momentum as a heel. Problem is that it’s Cena and we know he doesn’t lose that often. It’s really more about the story than anything. This feels like a multiple PPV feud with potential matches coming at Battleground and SummerSlam as well.
