WWE Announces Alexa Bliss vs. Trish Stratus at Evolution on Oct. 28
It was announced on Saturday night that one of the big matches that will take place at the all-women’s Evolution pay-per-view is current Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss facing WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. The match will take place on October 28 in Long Island, New York.
Keep in mind that just because Bliss in the Raw Women’s Champion right now does not mean that she will go into the match as the champion. I think Ronda Rousey will go into that show as the Raw Women’s Champion.
Here’s more info from WWE.com on the match:
As if WWE Evolution, the groundbreaking all-women’s pay-per-view, wasn’t already historic enough, Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss will face seven-time Women’s Champion Trish Stratus in what is sure to be a match for the ages.
The Goddess, who is set to defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, will battle the WWE Hall of Famer for the first time at the pay-per-view event set for Sunday, Oct. 28, at 7 ET/4 PT. Not only will this be Bliss and Stratus’ first match against each other, but it will also mark Stratus’ first match since competing in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match earlier this year.
WWE Evolution will stream live on WWE Network, featuring women’s championship matches from Raw, SmackDown LIVE, NXT and NXT UK, as well as the final of the second annual Mae Young Classic 2018.
Bliss commented on the match on Twitter noting that she will face anybody at any time.
Rookies, Hall of Famers, I’ll defeat them all. Any time. Any where. #WWEEvolution 🖤💪🏻 https://t.co/3xvyIsPvip

Earlier on Saturday evening at the NXT Takeover event in Brooklyn, a graphic appeared on the screen showing the Trish Stratus vs. Alexa Bliss match. In that graphic, Bliss is not holding the Raw Women’s Title. It was a few hours later when WWE officially announced the match, so perhaps they did it because that graphic aired accidentally, or maybe it was the plan all along to create buzz around the event.

TJR Thoughts: It’s not the match that I would have done since I think Trish vs. her long time rival Mickie James would have been really cool to see especially after the ovation they got during the Women’s Royal Rumble. I think Trish vs. Sasha Banks would have been really good too. Bliss matches just don’t interest me as much. She’s a good talker and will get people interested in the match that way, but it’s not like Bliss matches are among the best in WWE. They’re fine, but they don’t stand out at all.
