WWE Announcer Not Famous Enough For Their Own Job

One WWE announcer is not happy about their latest move in the company after being told they weren’t famous enough for their own job.

The announce desks have seen quite the changes in the last few months in WWE. Joe Tessitore joined the company as Raw’s lead announcer but with the Monday night show starting its multi-billion dollar deal on Netflix, Michael Cole and Pat McAfee have taken over duties on WWE’s flagship show.

At NXT New Year’s Evil, Corey Graves returned to the brand where he made his name as he joined Vic Joseph and Booker T on commentary. Graves was a part of SmackDown’s commentary team on January 3 but it seems that might be his last appearance on the show for now.

The January 10 edition of SmackDown saw Tessitore and Wade Barrett take on commentary duties in a two-man booth meaning Graves could be resigned to NXT and it seems he’s not happy about it.

Corey Graves Blasts WWE

Taking to social media, Corey Graves revealed that he’s been told that he’s not famous enough for his role which might explain his surprise move to NXT – which many will see as a demotion:

Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream. Then you dedicate your life to something “dream adjacent” and being pretty f*cking awesome at it.

And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job. Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been.

Pat McAfee could have another hiatus from his WWE duties later in the year as he balances this job with his role on ESPN’s College Game Day. That could leave a spot open for Corey Graves to rejoin Michael Cole on Raw but that is far from guaranteed.
