WWE Announcer Exits Company

WWE logo over announce desks

WWE is one broadcaster down after a commentator with the company announced that they were leaving for pastures new.

Part of the previous NXT re-branding saw 205 Live replaced by NXT Level Up – a show featuring young, up-and-coming members of WWE’s developmental roster, and now that show is looking for a new announcer.

Sudu Shah, who called the NXT Level Up action with Byron Saxton, took to social media to announce that he has had his last day behind the desk in WWE:

“Yesterday was my final day with the WWE. What an incredible experience working with some of the most talented people I’ve ever met. Thank you to everyone who watched and supported every week!”

Shah joined WWE in January 2022 and began commentating on 205 Live with Nigel McGuinness until the NXT Level Up rebrand when he was joined by former Raw announcer, Saxton.

The company’s announce teams got a shake-up towards the end of 2022 when Pat McAfee announced a leave of absence from SmackDown so he could present College Game Day during the football season. Wade Barrett replaced him on SmackDown with Booker T moving into Barrett’s role in NXT. It has since emerged that Booker T will be part of the NXT announce team full-time, it remains to be seen which brand Barrett will land on when McAfee returns.
