WWE Backstage Reaction To AJ Lee Reconciling With Stephanie McMahon

AJ Lee wasted little time addressing her spat with Stephanie McMahon.

Back in 2015, AJ Lee publicly called out Stephanie McMahon after the latter went public with her views on equal pay in Hollywood. In response, Lee was quick to point out the disparity in pay between men and women in WWE, which highlighted McMahon’s apparent lack of action on the subject.

Fast forward a decade, and AJ Lee tackled the subject head-on when she appeared on What’s Your Story with Stephanie McMahon.

The two women both explained that while the comments were direct, they weren’t exchanged with spite or malice. For her part, Lee said at the time that fighting for better pay and opportunities felt like an uphill battle, while McMahon praised her courage.

AJ Lee And Stephanie McMahon Buried The Hatchet

According to a new report from Fightful Select, the podcast reunion between Lee and McMahon caught many by surprise backstage. Not because of any lingering bad feeling between the two sides, but rather because people expected their online spat to be left in the past.

AJ Lee is set to return to action at Survivor Series, where she’ll team with Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Iyo Sky to battle Becky Lynch, Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend inside WarGames.
