WWE Adds Title Match To SmackDown Lineup
There will be at least two WWE championship matches on the September 26th edition of SmackDown.
The WWE Women’s Title will be on the line when SmackDown takes place in Orlando on September 26th.
Tiffany Stratton is the longest reigning champion on the WWE main roster right now, but she has a tough test on SmackDown when she has to defend the gold against two opponents – the Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill and former Women’s Champion, Nia Jax.
When Tiffany Stratton faced Jade Cargill on the September 12th edition of SmackDown, the match ended in a double countout after they brawled on the floor and neither woman could get back into the ring. After the match, Jax attacked both women, and that was apparently enough to have Jax earn another title shot.
It was also reported that WWE planned to have the Stratton-Jax-Cargill match at the Wrestlepalooza PLE, but it was changed to SmackDown in Orlando instead.
US Title Open Challenge Will Continue On WWE SmackDown
In addition to the WWE Women’s Title match, it has also been announced that Sami Zayn will have another US Title Open Challenge for the fourth straight week.
Sami Zayn wrestled John Cena to a No Contest on September 5th due to Brock Lesnar making his presence felt. Zayn followed that up by beating Rey Fenix the following week and Zayn beat Carmelo Hayes last week on SmackDown.
An appearance from the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is also confirmed for SmackDown. Here’s what is officially being advertised.
