WWE Accused Of Covering Up Cody Rhodes’ Injury Amid Fears Of Long Absence

Cody Rhodes’ injury might be more serious than everyone thought.

The American Nightmare rushed to John Cena’s rescue last Friday on SmackDown after Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre attacked him. The four superstars were booked into a tag team match later that night.

While the match ended in disqualification after The Maverick delivered a low blow to his Clash in Paris opponent, Rhodes and McIntyre continued to fight at ringside.

The Undisputed WWE Champion attempted to put The Scottish Warrior through the announce table before the latter turned the tables and hit him with the title belt. McIntyre then viciously claymored Rhodes through the announce table.

No Update On Cody Rhodes’ Injury On SmackDown

On tonight’s SmackDown, Joe Tessitore disclosed that there was no update on the severity of Cody Rhodes‘ injury. Drew McIntyre then headed to the ring to cut a promo, during which he addressed The American Nightmare’s health.

After claiming that he was only defending himself against the Undisputed WWE Champion, McIntyre asked Tessitore about the medical update. He pointed out that it was weird not to have an update after a week. He then seemingly accused WWE management of hiding the extent of Rhodes’ injury, adding that they do not know how long their “golden boy” would be out.

Joe, where’s the medical update? What’s going on with Cody? It’s been a week now. [There’s no medical?] There’s no update, that’s weird. We always have an update after a week. Could somebody be hiding it? Could management be hiding it because of what I did to their golden boy? They don’t know how long he’s gonna be out for and it’s all Drew McIntyre’s fault.

Drew McIntyre then continued to fire shots at Cody Rhodes, claiming he did not attack him last week. Instead, it was The American Nightmare who threw the first blow. The Scottish Warrior added that he was not a bad guy, but he would do very violent things if he got provoked. He ended his promo by stating that he is the “real nightmare” when provoked.
