WWE Faces Major Accusation Over Treatment Of John Cena

WWE John Cena

John Cena wrestled his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event at Capital One Arena in Washington on December 13.

The WWE Universe saw him tap out to Gunther after The Ring General put him in an inescapable sleeper hold.

WWE and Triple H faced a heavy fan backlash for booking Cena to lose his last match via a tap-out, a move that fans feel has tainted his “Never Give Up” mantra forever.

WWE Disrespected John Cena On His Farewell Show

But Vince Russo and Jonathan Coachman dived deeper on the recent episode of The Coach and Bro Show, accusing WWE of disrespecting John Cena on his big night.

While reviewing the fallout of SNME, Coachman highlighted that WWE didn’t put all their efforts into Cena’s farewell. Coachman said:

The career that he (John Cena) had, 23 years, and what they gave us on screen was Mark Henry, Sami Zayn, Eve Torres, Trish Stratus, Haku, and then behind all of them, oh, by the way, just the guy who’s a Hall of Famer, just the guy who had his first match.

Why would you not give him a pre-tape in the show, Kurt Angle? They used him for nothing. Yeah. And that that was that’s what that’s who you invited. You have Cody Rhodess saying, “Well, they asked me if I’d be involved.”

They asked Cody, “Hey, will you wrestle?” He’s like, “This is the last match. Are you kidding me?” And Cody said, “Vince, a lot of guys, they act like it’s asking too much to do an extra show.”

I’m like, “Yeah, I agree with that too, Cody.” Vince, it’s almost like they were openly just disrespecting John and he’s such a nice guy, they knew he would never say anything. (From 20:12)
