WWE Absolutely In The Picture For Will Ospreay
Will Ospreay looks to be on his way out of New Japan Pro Wrestling and while many think his future could be in AEW, WWE remains a very viable option.
Will Ospreay will be a free agent on February 1st when his contract with NJPW expires. Ospreay had noted in the past he did not want to live in the US full time which may have limited his options but he recently noted a shift in that thinking, saying he’d be open to living Stateside.
Will Ospreay has been featured in several AEW matches in the past and is considered a member of The Don Callis Family. It was in that role with Callis that Will Ospreay defeated Chris Jericho in Wembley Stadium at All In. But Tony Khan’s company seems to be just one option for the English star moving forward.
Will Ospreay Keeping WWE Options Open
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented on the situation surrounding Will Ospreay after his social media back and forth with Seth Rollins:
“Will Ospreay is on the way out [of NJPW], and might be, he certainly teased WWE today because he and Seth Rollins tweeted back and forth.
“I wouldn’t say anything is definite with Ospreay, but people who think that it’s a guarantee it’s AEW, just put it this way, WWE is absolutely in the picture. I’ve said this before WWE is in the picture, AEW is in the picture, it’s whoever’s going to give him the best offer, and he’s going to go for both sides.”
Will Ospreay is still the reigning IWGP UK Champion and he looks like he could be putting that title on the line against both Jon Moxley and David Finlay after Finlay attacked both men at NJPW Power Struggle after Ospreay retained his title against Shota Umino.
