WWE-AAA Worlds Collide: Las Vegas Results – September 12th
The WWE roster faced off against AAA stars at Worlds Collide in Las Vegas as El Hijo Del Vikingo faced Dominik Mysterio in a huge main event.
This WWE-AAA Worlds Collide event took place at the Cox Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. It’s a card with six matches, including several title matches. The first WWE-AAA Worlds Collide event was in Los Angeles in June, so now they are in Las Vegas.
Worlds Collide started at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT immediately after SmackDown ended. This show aired on WWE’s YouTube channel for free in English and in Spanish. I’ll have a more detailed TJR review in the next day or two.
There were dignitaries in the ring: WWE’s Shawn Michaels & Rey Mysterio, along with AAA’s Marisela Pena and Dorian Roldan. Adia Cuevas sang the Mexican National Anthem, followed by Lillian Garcia singing the American National Anthem.
WWE superstar Penta did a promo in Spanish. I don’t speak Spanish, so I have no idea what he said. When the commentary team was shown, Konnan said that Penta was going after the AAA Grand Championship no matter who the champion is.

The commentary team was Corey Graves, WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield, and AAA Hall of Famer Konnan.
Match #1:Laredo Kid, Mascarita Sagrada, La Parka, and Octagón Jr. defeated Latino World Order (Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde), Lince Dorado, and Mini Abismo Negro by pinfall. The fantastic mini Mascarita Sagrada got a rollup on Mini Abismo Negro for the win.
Rey Mysterio was interviewed by Vero Rodriguez. Rey was interrupted by his son, Dominik Mysterio. Dominik said that when he beats El Hijo Del Vikingo, he’ll be the first AAA Grand Champion, and he’ll be a double champion. Dominik said that when he wins, he wants his dad to raise his hand and put the title around his waist. Rey said he would do it. Finn Balor walked in, and his wife is the interviewer. Balor told Dom to win the championship alone. Balor said he’s got it. Dominik was left to think about it.
Match #2:Number One Contender’s for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship – Natalya defeated Faby Apache. Natalya was in “Nattie” mode for this match. They exchanged pin attempts. Faby was on top, but then Natalya flipped it over and sat on top while holding onto the legs for the pinfall win.
The New Day and Grayson Waller were interviewed by Chuey Martinez. Kofi Kongston said they’ll become the AAA Tag Team Champions. Xavier Woods claimed that he wasn’t cleared to compete due to a head injury. Grayson Waller was filling in for Woods.
Match #3: AAA Tag Team Championships: Pagano & Psycho Clown defeated Grayson Waller & Kofi Kingston (with Xavier Woods) by pinfall to retain the titles. Psycho Clown did La Majistral Cradle to Waller for the win.
After the match, Pagano & Psycho Clown were about to be interviewed, but the Wyatt Sicks stable interrupted. Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis are the WWE Tag Team Champions joined by Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan & Nikki Cross. Lumis and Gacy were in control. They hit a double team sitout Powerbomb. Cross jumped off the top with a Thesz Press on the Clown. Rowan used the steel steps to knock Pagano down. Rowan slammed Pagano onto the ring apron. Lumis went up top and splashed Pagano through a table. Rowan gave Psycho Clown a Powerbomb through a table against the turnbuckle. Uncle Howdy/Bo Dallas hit a Sister Abigail on Pagano onto a steel chair. The Wyatt Sicks posed while Rowan held the AAA Tag Team Titles and Lumis/Gacy held the WWE Tag Team Titles in the air.

Match #4: Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana defeated Finn Balor & Roxanne Perez by pinfall. Balor had his Demonito hand puppet throughout the match, while Iguana had La Yesca. Iguana dove onto Balor on the floor. Perez got a rollup on Vice for two, but then Vice came back with a spinning back fist for the win. After the match, Lola Vice pointed at NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne in the crowd. Their NXT Women’s Title. It’s Jayne against Vice at NXT No Mercy on September 27th.
Match #5: AAA Latin American Championship – El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Dragon Lee, Ethan Page, and JD McDonagh by pinfall. There were a lot of pin attempts and pin breakups by all four guys throughout the match. Wagner hit a Wagner Driver on JD for the pinfall win. While Wagner picked up JD, Page was hit with JD’s feet, so Page wasn’t able to make the save.
WHAT. A. FINISH. @hijodewagner is your winner! 😱

Who Won The WWE-AAA Worlds Collide Las Vegas Main Event?
It was AAA Grand Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo against Dominik Msyterio in the main event. During the introductions, the fans cheered for challenger Dominik Mysterio, who is the Intercontinental Champion, over the AAA Grand Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo even though Dominik is a heel.
Match #6: AAA Grand Championship – Dominik Mysterio defeated El Hijo Del Vikingo to win the AAA Grand Championship. Dominik Mysterio is the new AAA Grand Champion!
Dominik had help from Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, but Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio showed up to stop them and they went fighting to the back. Dominik put a white mask on during this part of the match. Vikingo hit a spin kick, followed by a 630 Splash off the top turnbuckle, and he got a two count out of that because El Grande Americano pulled the referee, Eddie Orengo, out of the ring. Dominik dropkicked Vikingo and he hit the 619 kick. Dominik hit a Frog Splash, but new referee Adrian Butler was slow to get to the ring, so Vikingo kicked out. After Vikingo hit a Poison Rana on Dom, Vikingo tried to unmask Americano. The referee tried to stop that, so Americano tossed a metal piece to Dominik, who put it under his mask. Dominik hit a running headbutt with the loaded mask. Dominik went up top and hit a Frog Splash for the pinfall win. Dominik is now a double champion since he’s also the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
After the match, Rey Mysterio went into the ring and wanted to hand the AAA Grand Championship to his son, Dominik, but Dominik insisted that his father put the title around his waist. Rey reluctantly put the AAA World Mega Championship around his son Dominik’s waist. Dominik told his father to leave, so Rey left.
The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez celebrated with Dominik in the ring. El Grande Americano also hugged Dominik. The crowd was cheering for Dominik’s celebration. Dominik Mysterio continued to celebrate as he spoke into the camera, saying he was the King of the Luchadores.
