Wrestling Toni Storm Would Be “Golden Cinema” For Former AEW Champion
A former Women’s Champion in AEW believes a match with “Timeless” Toni Storm would be a lot of fun to watch.
The rivalry between “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mariah May ended at AEW Revolution with an incredible Hollywood Ending match that was one of the most violent women’s matches in AEW history.
It was a bloody battle that saw the women use tables and broken glass along with many other weapons throughout the match. Storm found a way to win with a Storm Zero piledriver through a table to continue her dominance as the first four-time Women’s World Champion in AEW history.
Storm’s first title reign in AEW was in September 2022. It was two years earlier in February 2020 when Nyla Rose was the second Women’s World Champion in AEW history.
While Rose remains with AEW, she isn’t in a featured role these days. However, Rose told Flickering Myth in a new interview that a match and rivalry with Storm would be very entertaining.
“Honestly, I’ve gotten in the ring with Toni Storm, but I’ve not gotten in the ring with “timeless” Toni Storm. I think that would be a laugh riot. Well, that’s not entirely true. We touched, we locked horns briefly, very briefly in a one-off tag match. But like to actually have something with her would be, that would be golden cinema.”
Toni Storm Ready To Defend AEW Gold Against Megan Bayne
During the main event of AEW Dynamite on March 19th, Megan Bayne picked up a huge win by beating Kris Statlander. During the match, Storm was on commentary and Bayne threw Statlander onto Storm in the final few minutes of the match. Bayne won the match with her Fate’s Descent spinning slam.
After the match, Storm got into a brawl with Bayne in the ring. Storm did a promo to end the show saying that Bayne was a “big b**ch” but that was fine with her since “the bigger they are, the harder they come.” Storm said that they would have a date at Dynasty. Storm said she’ll make her thighs shake and body quake and Storm will leave with her title.
AEW Dynasty takes place on April 6th in Philadelphia with Storm defending her Women’s World Title against Bayne at the event.
