Report: Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks Set “All In” Date

Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks are going All In on September 1st, 2018.

After months of rumors swirling and stoking the fires, Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks, current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Nick and Matt Jackson, were the first to announce their pipe dream show turned reality has an official date via Twitter. Not that their participation was ever in question, as the Young Bucks have been planning to run this show with “The American Nightmare” ever since Cody’s self-challenge to sell out 10,000 seats without the WWE machine after a particularly memorable exchange with Dave Meltzer on Twitter last May.

With several Bullet Club members already represented, Hangman Adam Page and “The Villain” Marty Scurll threw their hats in the ring as well. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Bullet Club Party without current IWGP United States Champion “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega, fresh off his victory over Chris Jericho at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 (in case you missed it, you can find John Canton’s review of the match right here). Cody’s arch-rival in the ring and on TV’s Arrow, actor Stephen Amell, will also be making an appearance.

With the rumors of Chicago and Los Angeles being the final venue contenders: now attention turns towards the Being The Elite podcast, hosted by the Bucks themselves, where the official announcement will take place on an upcoming episode.

If you’re wondering about Daniel Bryan, he noted a while ago on Twitter that his WWE deal is up September 28, 2018 so he likely wouldn’t be free to work this show if he decided to wrestle again.

Tommy’s Thoughts: Ever since Cody’s roads (POINTS!) led him out of the WWE, the opinions and critiques online have been polarizing, to put it mildly. To some, he is re-writing the book on how to survive life after WWE and showing off the talent that Vince McMahon could never harness correctly. To others, he’s still wrestling the same match every night and riding the Bullet Club bandwagon while he bides his time until he’s back in Connecticut.

Whatever your opinions on him or the Young Bucks, it’s undeniable that they are the masters at making their own names from whatever hand they’re dealt. The Bucks have made a whole career out of it, while Cody has put on his working boots to make his own legacy in spite of his famous daddy. While the first announced names are not necessarily surprising, the hype machine has officially begun as we’ll be talking about this for a long time to come: no matter what the result is.

Worst case, with a Bullet Club takeover already in the cards, this will be like nWo Souled Out but with good wrestling matches. Count me All In. ?
