A report claims that weird and wonderful items such as wrestling belts have been found by lawyers acting for Donald Trump alongside items marked classified.

Former President Donald Trump has faced scrutiny over the alleged mishandling of classified documents since classified material was found at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Now The Washington Post has reported that two more items marked as classified have been found during a search at a storage facility used to hold pallets of items linked to Trump and his team totalling 3,000 pounds in weight in September 2021.

A source familiar with the situation is quoted as saying that the storage facility contained a wide array of items, including bizarrely wrestling belts:

“It was suits and swords and wrestling belts and all sorts of things. To my knowledge, he has never even been to that storage unit. I don’t think anyone in Trump world could tell you what’s in that storage unit.”

Donald Trump’s association with wrestling and specifically WWE dates back to at least 1988 when WrestleMania 4 was advertised as emanating from Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The event actually took place in Boardwalk Hall across the street from Trump’s property as did WrestleMania 5 in 1989.

Trump maintained his relationship with former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon over the years with McMahon appearing on The Apprentice and Trump having a featured role at WrestleMania 23 in the “Battle of the Billionaires” which ultimately saw McMahon get his head shaved. Donald Trump was inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
