5 Wrestlers Thanked Ex-WWE Star For Saying Triple H Wasn’t Trusted Backstage

WWE Triple H

Triple H wasn’t always a trusted figure in WWE.

In a video on his YouTube channel, former WWE Superstar Maven gave his thoughts on WWE Unreal.

The docuseries aimed to shine a light on life behind the scenes in WWE, including footage of the writing room as storylines and matches are put together.

In his review, Maven commented on Triple H’s role in the whole production and how he handles managing the roster, noting that no one trusted him during his time as a full-time Superstar. Maven spent time on WWE Raw during Triple H’s “Reign of Terror” during the early to mid-2000s.

During an interview with Ariel Helwani, Maven revealed that five wrestlers had reached out to him to say thank you for what he said about The Game.

“Five wrestlers reached out to me and thanked me for what I said… Everybody knew backstage, everybody. People knew Hunter was positioning himself for what he’s got now. I don’t want to act like he didn’t deserve it or that he didn’t earn it. He does. You’re never gonna find a better or a more intelligent mind when it comes to professional wrestling than with Triple H.”

Triple H Stands By WWE Unreal

While appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H hit back at those who criticised WWE Unreal, saying that he doesn’t understand fans who don’t support it.

WWE’s Chief Content Officer said that even the company’s youngest fans are aware of what wrestling is and the news coming out of backstage, so there was really nothing to lose by “pulling back the curtain.” He added that the series could bring in new fans, rather than drive people away.

Despite WWE vouching for the show’s authenticity, it was reported after season one aired that several moments were staged for the Netflix cameras.
