Wrestler Hospitalised With “Serious Injuries” Following Attack By Raja Jackson

Raja Jackson & Rampage Jackson

Fans are calling for Raja Jackson to face legal action after a major incident at an event in California.

During a Knokx Pro Event on August 23, Stuart Smith, wrestling as “Syko Stu,” featured in a planned angle with Raja Jackson, the son of former MMA star Rampage Jackson. In a confrontation early on, Stu hit Jackson with a beer can.

Stu was later seen apologising, and Jackson appeared to accept the apology.

However, following Stu’s match, Jackson stormed the ring from where he’d been sitting at ringside. Jackson took out Stu with a version of a double-legged takedown, which appeared to knock him out. With Stu down, Jackson adopted a mount position and delivered a series of punches with the former unable to defend himself.

Jackson was eventually subdued by several other wrestlers as the whole incident was streamed live. Once backstage, Jackson was shown on his livestream wearing a bloodied shirt, receiving a call where it was noted that Stu had “flatlined.”

As noted by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Stu suffered “serious injuries” during the incident.

Based on what I’ve heard, the spot with Raja Jackson at Knokx Pro Wrestling was planned. However, Raja Jackson knocked the person out — ring name Syko Stu– and followed up with a lot of heavy punches to Syko Stu, which were not planned to do that kind of damage. Stu was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. We are working to find out more and have Stu in our thoughts.

Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer described what happened as the “worst thing I think I’ve ever seen in the ring.”

Rampage Jackson Issues Statement After Raja Jackson Incident

With speculation running wild, Rampage Jackson issued a statement, which he claimed would “clear up the misinformation.” The former MMA star said that the incident was “bad judgment,” and that his son had no business being involved in wrestling.

Jackson said he was “deeply concerned” for his son’s health, as well as Smith’s condition.

“I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match. Raja was told that he could get his “payback ”in the ring,” I thought it was a part of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong.

Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL! He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact.

As a father, im deeply concerned with his health AND the well-being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery.I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation.“

WWE star Rusev later posted a message of support for Smith who he said he’s known for 15 years.

I’ve known and trained with @SykoStu for 15 years. He is a former US Army veteran and amazing guy. There are no excuses for what happened in that ring. Praying for strong Kick out.

The Knokx Pro Academy is a WWE ID school run by Hall of Famer Rikishi.

Everyone at TJR Wrestling would like to send their best wishes to Stuart Smith and his family. Widely circulated footage of the incident hasn’t been featured in this article out of respect for Smith and his family and friends.
