WWE took the opportunity while Extreme Rules was in Philadelphia to unveil the logo for WrestleMania 40 which will also emanate from the City of Brotherly Love.

Extreme Rules brought out the hardcore side of the WWE roster with several stars doing battle in a variety of matches. Ronda Rousey reclaimed the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Liv Morgan and Matt Riddle picked up a huge win over Seth Rollins in the Fight Pit. All of that was overshadowed by the end of the night, however, as Bray Wyatt returned to WWE.

Before the show began WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler was joined by cheerleaders and the mascot of the Philadelphia Eagles to unveil the WrestleMania 40 logo. The fortieth incarnation of The Showcase of the Immortals will take place across two days on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of April 2024 at Lincoln Financial Field. WWE shared a video of the reveal on their social media channels.

The logo features an image of the famed Liberty Bell and to the delight of many fans sees the return of Roman numerals to the logo. The numerals had previously been used on almost all of the previous show logos but this was stopped after WrestleMania 30 in 2014.

Philadelphia previously played host to the event back in 1999 for WrestleMania 15 where Stone Cold Steve Austin faced off with The Rock in the first of their trilogy of WrestleMania epics.
