Willow Nightingale Wants More From AEW Run
Willow Nightingale is plotting her path back to the top.
Since mid-2023, Willow Nightingale has been TBS Champion, NJPW Women’s Strong Champion, and CMLL World Women’s Champion.
However, she hasn’t held a championship of any kind since September 2024, and she recently missed out on taking part in the Owen Hart Cup. While that meant she was unable to add another accolade to her honors list, it also means she’ll have to wait until challenging for the AEW Women’s Title again.
But despite these setbacks, Nightingale’s motivation remains as strong as ever.
Willow Nightingale Wants Championship Gold
During a new interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Nightingale opened up about her determination to win championship gold even though she’s currently on the outside looking in at the Women’s World Title.
The star said she’d love to take the TBS Championship back from Mercedes Mone, while she feels she also has unfinished business with the ROH Women’s Championship.
“If you think about it, like I was TBS Champ for a month, I do not feel fulfilled. I want to get it back. So Mercedes is definitely on the radar.
The Ring of Honor Women’s Champion was something that was always something that kind of like, something that kind of like, evaded me. Roxanne [Perez], who was Rok-C at the time, had it; I tried to beat her. That didn’t work. I tried to beat Mercedes [Martinez] to win, it didn’t work. So I do not have a good streak.
I do not have a good record when it comes to the Ring of Honor Women’s Championship. So that’s also something that I’m like, ‘It would be really nice to feel that and finally, one day, get it.'”
In recent weeks, Nightingale has helped The Opps in their battle against the Death Riders. On the April 16 edition of Dynamite, she ensured that Powerhouse Hobbs, Samoa Joe, and Katsuyori Shibata defeated the dominant faction to win the World Trios Titles.
