William Regal Officially Back In WWE
It looks like William Regal’s future in the wrestling business is assured following his exit from AEW at the end of 2022 according to a new report.
AEW President Tony Khan confirmed in December 2022 that William Regal’s time in the company was drawing to a close and that the English star would be returning to WWE.
Regal had spent the best part of two decades as part of WWE both in front of and behind the camera before he was released from his contract in January 2022. However, with Triple H assuming control of the company in July following Vince McMahon’s retirement, many wondered if he’d look to bring his long-time friend back to the fold.
Regal had been a part of AEW since his debut in March 2022 when he brought Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson together to form the Blackpool Combat Club. Tony Khan noted that William Regal had asked for an option to extend his AEW contract not be exercised so that he can return to the company where his son, NXT star Charlie Dempsey, also works.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that as of the 4th of January 2023, William Regal has officially returned to WWE. Regal’s role has not been officially confirmed but earlier reports suggest he will have a vice president title in the company.
